Features
--------

Dell Media Experience Fix 2.0 Fix will patch your
existing Dell Media Experience 2.0 installation to fix
	the following problems:

	1) Memory leaks while running in the background even when
	   closed by the user.
	2) Adjusts options in Microsoft Windows Media Player
that may not be changed back when the user closes Dell
	   Media Experience.
	3) Adjusts screen saver options that may not be changed
back when the user closes Dell Media Experience.
	4) Adjusts system volume levels that may not be changed
back when the user closes Dell Media Experience.
	5) Media may automatically start in Dell Media
Experience when it appears to be closed, even if the
user has associated it to be started with another
	   program.

As an additional feature, the patch will place the
Dell Media Experience window "always on top" so it can
be more effectively used without always being maximized.

How It Works
------------

Dell Media Experience is normally started with PCM2.exe
in the C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience directory.
At system startup and whenever PCM2.exe starts, another
program named PCMService.exe continues to run in the
background and cannot be closed without ending the
	process.

By moving PCM2.exe to another file, and in its place
having the included patch, the patch will start up instead
of Dell Media Experience. This patch will then locate
the renamed PCM2.exe (now PCM2-1.exe), and start it up. At
certain time intervals, the patch checks if Dell Media
Experience is still open, or if it has been closed by the
user. If it is now closed and running in the background,
the patch sends a system close message to Dell Media
Experience to get it to gracefully exit, before the patch
itself exits. By closing this background process, system
settings for volume, Microsoft Windows Media Player, and
the screensaver are restored to how they were before Dell
Media Experience was started, and memory used by Dell
Media Experience is now free for use by other programs.

When this patch is installed it will also remove
PCMService.exe from being automatically started at
system startup in the registry to avoid another potential
	memory leak.
